James Edwin Cossey was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on December 25, 1947, began his ministry at age 15, and was ordained at age 25. He received ministerial training (Th.B., Th.M., Th.D.) through Berean Christian College, Luther Rice Seminary, and Clarksville School of Theology. A pastor for 25 years, he served as State Director of Youth and Christian education (Iowa and Oklahoma), and as Editor of World Missions Publications at the International Offices. A former professional radio announcer, he served on the Media Ministries Board for the Church of God (1982-1992), and in 1990 served as Interim radio speaker for Forward in Faith, the international radio voice of the Church of God. He served on the State Councils of the States of Michigan (1981-85; 1987-90) and Alabama (1996-1999). Dr. Cossey comes to Cleveland to serve as the Editor-in-Chief for Pathway Press after serving as State Administrative Bishop for the Pacific North West, and previously New Mexico.
